Turn Your face from my sins, And blot out all my transgressions. Create in me a clean heart, O God.

ወንጌል Gospel

1. Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who had been dead, whom He had raised from the dead. 2. There they made Him a supper; and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with Him. 3. Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil. 4. But one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, who would betray Him, said, 5. “Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?” 6. This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it. 7. But Jesus said, “Let her alone; she has kept this for the day of My burial. 8. For the poor you have with you always, but Me you do not have always.” 9. Now a great many of the Jews knew that He was there; and they came, not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might also see Lazarus, whom He had raised from the dead. 10. But the chief priests plotted to put Lazarus to death also, 11. because on account of him many of the Jews went away and believed in Jesus. Whoever believes in the SON, have eternal life.

13. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. 14. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, 15. having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, 16. and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. 17. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. 18. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. 19. Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20. having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, 21. in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, 22. in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. 21. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. 22. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. 23. And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. 24. Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

But Festus answered that Paul should be kept at Caesarea, and that he himself was going there shortly. 5. “Therefore,” he said, “let those who have authority among you go down with me and accuse this man, to see if there is any fault in him.” 6. And when he had remained among them more than ten days, he went down to Caesarea. And the next day, sitting on the judgment seat, he commanded Paul to be brought. 7. When he had come, the Jews who had come down from Jerusalem stood about and laid many serious complaints against Paul, which they could not prove, 8. while he answered for himself, “Neither against the law of the Jews, nor against the temple, nor against Caesar have I offended in anything at all.”

And one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all, 50. nor do you consider that it is expedient for us that one man should die for the people, and not that the whole nation should perish.” 51. Now this he did not say on his own authority; but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation, 52. and not for that nation only, but also that He would gather together in one the children of God who were scattered abroad. 53. And they said, “The Lord has need of him.” 35. Then they brought him to Jesus. And they threw their own clothes on the colt, and they set Jesus on him. 36. And as He went, many spread their clothes on the road. 37. Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, 38. saying: “‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the LORD! ’ Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” 39. And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.” 40. But He answered and said to them, “ I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.” ‘It is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tittle of the law to fail,’ says the Lord to his desciples.

1. Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. 2. More over it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. 3. But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself. 4. For I know of nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord. 5. Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one's praise will come from God. 6. 8. Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward. 9. Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; 11. for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds. 12. Having many things to write to you, I did not wish to do so with paper and ink; but I hope to come to you and speak face to face, that our joy may be full. 13. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. 12. 24. Now there was also a dispute among them, as to which of them should be considered the greatest. 25. And He said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those who exercise authority over them are called ‘benefactors. ’ 26. But not so among you; on the contrary, he who is greatest among you, let him be as the younger, and he who governs as he who serves. 27. For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the One who serves. 28. “But you are those who have continued with Me in My trials. 29. And I bestow upon you a kingdom, just as My Father bestowed one upon Me, 30. that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” ‘It is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tittle of the law to fail,’ says the Lord to his desciples.

Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end. 2. And supper being ended, the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray Him, 3. Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God, 4. rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself. 5. After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. 6. Then He came to Simon Peter. And Peter said to Him, “Lord, are You washing my feet?” 7. Jesus answered and said to him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know after this.” 8. Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.” 9. Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!” 10. Jesus said to him, “He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you.” 11. 20. Therefore when you come together in one place, it is not to eat the Lord's Supper. 21. For in eating, each one takes his own supper ahead of others; and one is hungry and another is drunk. 22. What! Do you not have houses to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God and shame those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you in this? I do not praise you. 23. For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24. and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25. In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” 26. For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes. 27. Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29. For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
