All their thoughts are against me for evil. They will dwell near and hide; They will watch my heel As they wait for my soul.

ወንጌል Gospel

1. Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread drew near, which is called Passover. 2. And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might kill Him, for they feared the people. 3. Then Satan entered Judas, surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered among the twelve. 4. So he went his way and conferred with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray Him to them. 5. And they were glad, and agreed to give him money. 6. So he promised and sought opportunity to betray Him to them in the absence of the multitude. ‘It is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tittle of the law to fail,’ says the Lord to his desciples.

1. It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles—that a man has his father's wife! 2. And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he who has done this deed might be taken away from among you. 3. For I indeed, as absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged (as though I were present) him who has so done this deed. 4. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together, along with my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5. deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. 6. Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? 7. Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. 8. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, 12. not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother's righteous.

And some said, “What does this babbler want to say?” Others said, “He seems to be a proclaimer of foreign gods,” because he preached to them Jesus and the resurrection. 19. And they took him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, “May we know what this new doctrine is of which you speak? 20. For you are bringing some strange things to our ears. Therefore we want to know what these things mean.” 21. For all the Athenians and the foreigners who were there spent their time in nothing else but either to tell or to hear some new thing. 22. Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; 23. for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you:

But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet. 8. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows. 9. “But watch out for yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be beaten in the synagogues. You will be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony to them. 10. And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations. 11. But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. 12. Now brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. 13. And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. 29. But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's kingdom.” 30. And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. The Lord told his desciples, ‘Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.’

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, 19. by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, 20. who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. 21. There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22. who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him.

Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea. 8. But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from land, but about two hundred cubits), dragging the net with fish. 9. Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread. 10. Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish which you have just caught.” 11. Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish, one hundred and fifty - three; and although there were so many, the net was not broken. 12. Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.” Yet none of the disciples dared ask Him, “Who are You?” —knowing that it was the Lord. 13. Jesus then came and took the bread and gave it to them, and likewise the fish. 14. This is now the third time Jesus showed Himself to His disciples after He was raised from the dead. He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26. If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. 27. “Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour. 28. Rise, let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand.” The Lord told his desciples, ‘Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.’

And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. 5. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd. 17. “Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. 18. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. It was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience— 10. concerned only with foods and drinks, various washings, and fleshly ordinances imposed until the time of reformation.
