ወንጌል Gospel

Lk 7 : 24 - 28 [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

24. When the messengers of John had departed, He began to speak to the multitudes concerning John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind? 25. But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft garments? Indeed those who are gorgeously appareled and live in luxury are in kings’ courts. 26. But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet. 27. This is he of whom it is written: ‘Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, Who will prepare Your way before You. ’ 28. For I say to you, among those born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” ‘It is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tittle of the law to fail,’ says the Lord to his desciples.

Eph 6 : 1 - 9 [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

1. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2. “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: 3. “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.” 4. And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord. 5. Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; 6. not with eyeservice, as men - pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, 7. with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, 8. knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free. 9. And you, masters, do the same things to them, giving up threatening, knowing that your own Master also is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him.

ዘካልእ መልእክት Universal Epistle

1Jn 4 : 16 - end [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

16. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. 17. Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. 18. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 19. We love Him because He first loved us. 20. If someone says, “ I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? 21. And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.

ግብረ ሃዋርያት Acts

Acts 25 : 1 - 8 [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

1. Now when Festus had come to the province, after three days he went up from Caesarea to Jerusalem. 2. Then the high priest and the chief men of the Jews informed him against Paul; and they petitioned him, 3. asking a favor against him, that he would summon him to Jerusalem—while they lay in ambush along the road to kill him. 4. But Festus answered that Paul should be kept at Caesarea, and that he himself was going there shortly. 5. “Therefore,” he said, “let those who have authority among you go down with me and accuse this man, to see if there is any fault in him.” 6. And when he had remained among them more than ten days, he went down to Caesarea. And the next day, sitting on the judgment seat, he commanded Paul to be brought. 7. When he had come, the Jews who had come down from Jerusalem stood about and laid many serious complaints against Paul, which they could not prove, 8. while he answered for himself, “Neither against the law of the Jews, nor against the temple, nor against Caesar have I offended in anything at all.”

Jn 8 : 45 - 50 [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

45. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. 46. Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? 47. He who is of God hears God's words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.” 48. Then the Jews answered and said to Him, “Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?” 49. Jesus answered, “ I do not have a demon; but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me. 50. Jn 6 : 32 - 40 [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

32. Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. 33. For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” 34. Then they said to Him, “Lord, give us this bread always.” 35. And Jesus said to them, “ I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. 36. But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe. 37. All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. 38. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. 39. This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. 40. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” Whoever believes in the SON, have eternal life.

Mk 3 : 20 - 27 [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

20. Then the multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread. 21. But when His own people heard about this, they went out to lay hold of Him, for they said, “He is out of His mind.” 22. And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebub,” and, “By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.” 23. So He called them to Himself and said to them in parables: “How can Satan cast out Satan? 24. If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25. And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26. And if Satan has risen up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but has an end. 27. Rom 15 : 1 - 7 [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

1. We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves. 2. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification. 3. For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me.” 4. For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. 5. Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like - minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, 6. that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 7. Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God.

ዘካልእ መልእክት Universal Epistle

1Pet 4 : 14 - end [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

14. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified. 15. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people's matters. 16. Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter. 17. For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18. Now “If the righteous one is scarcely saved, Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?” 19. Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.

And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy. 19. I will show wonders in heaven above And signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke. 20. But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from land, but about two hundred cubits), dragging the net with fish. 9. Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread. 10. Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish which you have just caught.” 11. Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish, one hundred and fifty - three; and although there were so many, the net was not broken. 12. Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.” Yet none of the disciples dared ask Him, “Who are You?” —knowing that it was the Lord. 13. Jesus then came and took the bread and gave it to them, and likewise the fish. 14. This is now the third time Jesus showed Himself to His disciples after He was raised from the dead. 1Cor 9 : 7 - 12 [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

7. Who ever goes to war at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its fruit? Or who tends a flock and does not drink of the milk of the flock? 8. Do I say these things as a mere man? Or does not the law say the same also? 9. For it is written in the law of Moses, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain.” Is it oxen God is concerned about? 10. Or does He say it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written, that he who plows should plow in hope, and he who threshes in hope should be partaker of his hope. 11. If we have sown spiritual things for you, is it a great thing if we reap your material things? 12. If others are partakers of this right over you, are we not even more? Nevertheless we have not used this right, but endure all things lest we hinder the gospel of Christ.

The grass withers, And its flower falls away, 25. But the word of the LORD endures forever.” Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.

Ps 17 : 14 - 15 [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

They are satisfied with their sons, And they leave their possessions to their children. As for me, in righteousness I shall behold Your face; I shall be satisfied when Your glory is revealed.

ወንጌል Gospel

Mk 8 : 15 - 21 [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

15. Then He charged them, saying, “Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.” 16. And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “It is because we have no bread.” 17. But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “Why do you reason because you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Is your heart still hardened? 18. Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember? 19. When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did you take up?” They said to Him, “Twelve.” 20. “Also, when I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of fragments did you take up?” And they said, “Seven.” 21. So He said to them, “How is it you do not understand?” A Blind Man Healed He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

መልእክተ ጳውሎስ Pauline Epistle

1Thess 1 : 1 - end [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

1. Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2. We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, 3. remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father, 4. knowing, beloved brethren, your election by God. 5. For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake. 6. And you became followers of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit, 7. so that you became examples to all in Macedonia and Achaia who believe. 8. For from you the word of the Lord has sounded forth, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place. Your faith toward God has gone out, so that we do not need to say anything. 9. For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, 10. and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.

1Jn 2 : 14 - 19 [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

14. I have written to you, fathers, Because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, Because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, And you have overcome the wicked one. 15. Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. 18. Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. 19. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.

ግብረ ሃዋርያት Acts

Acts 19 : 11 - 17 [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

11. Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, 12. so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them. 13. Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.” 14. Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so. 15. And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?” 16. Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. 17. This became known both to all Jews and Greeks dwelling in Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

Mk 5 : 35 - end [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

35. While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue's house who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?” 36. As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.” 37. And He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James. 38. Then He came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and saw a tumult and those who wept and wailed loudly. 39. When He came in, He said to them, “Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping.” 40. And they ridiculed Him. But when He had put them all outside, He took the father and the mother of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying. 41. Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, “Talitha, cumi,” which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.” 42. Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazement. 43. But He commanded them strictly that no one should know it, and said that something should be given her to eat. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

Mk 12 : 18 - 27 [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

18. Then some Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Him; and they asked Him, saying: 19. “Teacher, Moses wrote to us that if a man's brother dies, and leaves his wife behind, and leaves no children, his brother should take his wife and raise up offspring for his brother. 20. Now there were seven brothers. The first took a wife; and dying, he left no offspring. 21. And the second took her, and he died; nor did he leave any offspring. And the third likewise. 22. So the seven had her and left no offspring. Last of all the woman died also. 23. Therefore, in the resurrection, when they rise, whose wife will she be? For all seven had her as wife.” 24. Jesus answered and said to them, “Are you not therefore mistaken, because you do not know the Scriptures nor the power of God? 25. For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. 26. But concerning the dead, that they rise, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the burning bush passage, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘ I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? 27. He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living. You are therefore greatly mistaken.” He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

12. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. 15. “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17. Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20. Therefore by their fruits you will know them. The Lord told his desciples, ‘Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.’

1Cor 14 : 26 - 33 [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

26. How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification. 27. If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be two or at the most three, each in turn, and let one interpret. 28. But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in church, and let him speak to himself and to God. 29. Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge. 30. But if anything is revealed to another who sits by, let the first keep silent. 31. For you can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be encouraged. 32. And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. 33. For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.

ዘካልእ መልእክት Universal Epistle

2Pet 3 : 1 - 7 [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

1. Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder), 2. that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, 3. knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, 4. and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” 5. For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, 6. by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. 7. But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Acts 13 : 38 - 43 [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

38. Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; 39. and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. 40. Beware therefore, lest what has been spoken in the prophets come upon you: 41. ‘Behold, you despisers, Marvel and perish! For I work a work in your days, A work which you will by no means believe, Though one were to declare it to you.’” 42. So when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath. 43. Now when the congregation had broken up, many of the Jews and devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

Lk 4 : 23 - 32 [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

23. He said to them, “You will surely say this proverb to Me, ‘Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in Your country.’” 24. Then He said, “Assuredly, I say to you, no prophet is accepted in his own country. 25. But I tell you truly, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was a great famine throughout all the land; 26. but to none of them was Elijah sent except to Zarephath, in the region of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. 27. And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and none of them was cleansed except Naaman the Syrian.” 28. So all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, 29. and rose up and thrust Him out of the city; and they led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, that they might throw Him down over the cliff. 30. Then passing through the midst of them, He went His way. 31. Then He went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and was teaching them on the Sabbaths. 32. And they were astonished at His teaching, for His word was with authority. ‘It is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tittle of the law to fail,’ says the Lord to his desciples.

ወንጌል Gospel

Lk 7 : 1 - 10 [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

1. Now when He concluded all His sayings in the hearing of the people, He entered Capernaum. 2. And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear to him, was sick and ready to die. 3. So when he heard about Jesus, he sent elders of the Jews to Him, pleading with Him to come and heal his servant. 4. And when they came to Jesus, they begged Him earnestly, saying that the one for whom He should do this was deserving, 5. “for he loves our nation, and has built us a synagogue.” 6. Then Jesus went with them. And when He was already not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying to Him, “Lord, do not trouble Yourself, for I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof. 7. Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to You. But say the word, and my servant will be healed. 8. For I also am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go, ’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come, ’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this, ’ and he does it.” 9. When Jesus heard these things, He marveled at him, and turned around and said to the crowd that followed Him, “ I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!” 10. And those who were sent, returning to the house, found the servant well who had been sick. ‘It is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tittle of the law to fail,’ says the Lord to his desciples.

Eph 2 : 13 - end [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

13. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. 14. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, 15. having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, 16. and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. 17. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. 18. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. 19. Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20. having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, 21. in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, 22. in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

1Pet 2 : 4 - 10 [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

4. Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, 5. you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6. Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.” 7. Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient, “The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone,” 8. and “A stone of stumbling And a rock of offense.” They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed. 9. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10. who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

Then he became very hungry and wanted to eat; but while they made ready, he fell into a trance 11. and saw heaven opened and an object like a great sheet bound at the four corners, descending to him and let down to the earth. 12. In it were all kinds of four - footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air. 13. And a voice came to him, “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.” 14. But Peter said, “Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean.” 15. And a voice spoke to him again the second time, “What God has cleansed you must not call common.” 16. This was done three times. And the object was taken up into heaven again.

Rom 2 : 1 - 12 [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

1. Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. 2. But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things. 3. And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God? 4. Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? 5. But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6. who “will render to each one according to his deeds” : 7. eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; 8. but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, 9. tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek; 10. but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who works what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 11. For there is no partiality with God. 12. For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law

3Jn 1 : 1 - end [ትግርኛ][ግእዝ][ልሙድ]

1. The Elder, To the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth: 2. Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3. For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. 4. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. 5. Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you do for the brethren and for strangers, 6. who have borne witness of your love before the church. If you send them forward on their journey in a manner worthy of God, you will do well, 7. because they went forth for His name's sake, taking nothing from the Gentiles. 8. We therefore ought to receive such, that we may become fellow workers for the truth. 9. I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to have the preeminence among them, does not receive us. 10. Therefore, if I come, I will call to mind his deeds which he does, prating against us with malicious words. And not content with that, he himself does not receive the brethren, and forbids those who wish to, putting them out of the church. 11. Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God. 12. Demetrius has a good testimony from all, and from the truth itself. And we also bear witness, and you know that our testimony is true. 13. I had many things to write, but I do not wish to write to you with pen and ink; 14. but I hope to see you shortly, and we shall speak face to face. Peace to you. Our friends greet you. 20. However, when the disciples gathered around him, he rose up and went into the city. And the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe. 21. And when they had preached the gospel to that city and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch, 22. strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.” 23. So when they had appointed elders in every church, and prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed. 24. And after they had passed through Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia. 25. Now when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia. 26. From there they sailed to Antioch, where they had been commended to the grace of God for the work which they had completed. 27. Now when they had come and gathered the church together, they reported all that God had done with them, and that He had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles. 28. So they stayed there a long time with the disciples.

1. And Jesus answered and spoke to them again by parables and said: 2. “The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son, 3. and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they were not willing to come. 4. Again, he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding.” ’ 5. But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his business. 6. And the rest seized his servants, treated them spitefully, and killed them. 7. But when the king heard about it, he was furious. And he sent out his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. 8. Then he said to his servants, ‘ The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. 9. Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding. ’ 10. So those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests. 11. “But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment. 12. So he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment? ’ And he was speechless. 13. Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. ’ 14. “For many are called, but few are chosen.” The Lord told his desciples, ‘Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.’
